Somalia’s Ministry of Health led the nation in commemorating the International Midwives’ Day.
Officials from the health ministry led the country in commemorating this important day on May 5 in a function held in Mogadishu.
Guests at the function included Members of Parliament (MPs).
Others were civil servants as well as representatives from the medical association.
Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, the federal Minister of Health, spoke at the event. She thanked midwives around the country for the services offered to mothers and children alike.
