In Somalia, the Ministry of Health has confirmed two more COVID-19 deaths to bring the number of fatalities from the virulent disease to 16.
The Horn of Africa nation recorded its first Coronavirus death on April 9.
Furthermore, the Thursday announcement also shows that the country’s number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 327 after the health ministry reported 41 new cases.
An Office of the Prime Minister-led multi-agency team has been appointed to coordinate the efforts of various government departments to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
According to Dr. Fawziya Abikar, the country’s health minister, Mogadishu remains the worst hit city in the country with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
