Heavy Rains Fill Ponds and Waterholes in Mudug

Heavy rainfall has filled the ponds and waterholes of Mudug region.

Reports from the region indicate that the rains pounded several areas in Mudug on the evening of Tuesday, October 18.

In some areas, the rains continued until Wednesday morning.

Relief is now palpable in the region.

Mudug region, just as has been the case elsewhere in Somalia, has been feeling the effects of the ongoing drought.

The drought is the result of failed rains in five consecutive seasons.
