Heritage Institute’s Study Shows that Somalia has Inadequate Healthcare Services

Heritage Institute has published the results of a study it conducted on healthcare services in Somalia.

The results show that the country has inadequate healthcare facilities and services.

Further, the study whose results were published on September 14 by Ali Abdullahi Warsame, the organization’s founder, discovered that healthcare workers lack the requisite skills.

Additionally, Heritage Institute concluded that healthcare services in the country are insufficient to meet basic health services of the population.

As per the Institute’s findings, the problem is not limited to public facilities alone but also affects private hospitals.

Consequently, the report Warsame and his team published indicate that “urgent scale-up of production, skills enhancement and training of health workforce is required.”

Somalia’s health system has suffered years of neglect because the civil war of the 1990s left the country without a functioning government.
