Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has expressed concern over the high cost of the Hajj pilgrimage for Somalis.
Barre expressed his concerns on Saturday when he visited the headquarters of the federal Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowment.
Ministry officials briefed him on the management of companies that offer Hajj services to Somalis in the country.
He also received updates on the bidding process.
Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, the religious affairs minister, confirmed to the Prime Minister that companies offering Hajj services have been fleecing Somalis.
