High-Level Meeting on Ongoing Drought in Horn of Africa Region Kicks off in Geneva

A high-level meeting to discuss the ongoing drought in the Horn of Africa region has kicked off in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meeting kicked off on Tuesday, April 26.

The European Union (EU) organized the meeting jointly with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble represents Somalia in the meeting.

Roble is scheduled to talk about the impact of the drought on Somalia.

He left for Geneva towards the end of last week.

International organizations have repeatedly warned of the danger that the ongoing drought poses to tens of millions of people in the Horn of Africa region.
