High Risk of Flooding Remains along River Shabelle

Somali Water and Land Information Management (SWALIM) announced that a high risk of flooding remains along River Shabelle.

SWALIM made this announcement on October 19.

The organization also urged Somalis in Nugaal, Bakool, Hiraan, Mudug, and Galgaduud to watch out for moderate to heavy rains in the next few days.

However, it informed residents of Juba and Somaliland not to expect rains during the same period.

More crucially, SWALIM expects River Shabelle to burst its banks any moment now after the water level rose to 7.58 meters at Beletweyne.

Consequently, residents in this region should start moving to higher grounds to escape floods.
