One of Somalia’s largest political parties has called for timely elections at the federal and regional state levels.
Himilo Party, which is the party of ex-President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, issued the call for timely elections on Monday.
Ex-President Ahmed’s party urged all federal and regional state institutions to respect the democratic practice in the East African nation.
Further, in its statement, the party opposed any form of term extension at any level of governance anywhere in the nation.
In the statement, Himilo Party added that all elections at the regional or federal level must take place on time.
