The regional state of HirShabelle has elected six new Members of Parliament (MPs).
Among the new MPs are three new female legislators.
A cabinet minister, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) was also among those elected.
The regional Minister of Agriculture in HirShabelle would also represent the state at the House of the People (Lower House).
