President Ali Gudlawe Hussein of the regional state of HirShabelle chaired an emergency security meeting on Saturday, September 3.
He chaired the security meeting following news that Al-Shabaab carried out a deadly attack in the region on Friday night.
The Al-Shabaab attack killed around 20 people according to government estimates.
Further, Al-Shabaab militants destroyed seven food trucks that were being used to transport food and other commercial goods to different parts of the region.
All senior security officers in the region attended the emergency meeting.
