HirShabelle President Self-Isolates After Minister Dies of COVID-19

President Mohamed Abdi Ware of HirShabelle has gone into self-isolation after one of his cabinet ministers died of COVID-19.

Khalif Mumin Tohow, the Minister of Justice in HirShabelle State, succumbed to the virulent disease on Sunday.

Consequently, his colleagues in the cabinet went into quarantine on suspicion that they had been in contact with him.

Tohow had been in a Mogadishu hospital receiving treatment for complications arising out of Coronavirus.

Following his death, President Ware announced that he and the rest of the cabinet would be self-isolating for the recommended mandatory period of 14 days.
