President Mohamed Abdi Ware of HirShabelle held a virtual meeting with several foreign diplomats today.
The meeting between President Ware and Ambassadors representing UN in Somalia, the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, and the United States took place on Webex.
President Ware said the meeting focused on issues pertinent to HirShabelle as one of the Federal Member States (FMS).
Discussions held in the virtual meeting mostly revolved around the second round of Dhusamareb talks, which are expected to resume on August 15.
Further, Ware and the diplomats talked about the impending elections, which have created a political crisis in Somalia.
The diplomats agreed that the country has to prepare to hold timely and practical polls built around consensus between all the stakeholders.
They also encouraged President Ware and all the other FMS leaders including President Mohamed Farmaajo to pursue transparent elections.
