Hodon District Commissioner was killed a few hours after getting back into the country from his medical trip to Turkey.
Abdihakim Dhagajun, the Hodon DC, had been in Turkey seeking medical treatment for injuries sustained from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack by Al-Shabaab.
However, on January 20, he lost his life in a fiery exchange of fire between his security guards and officers from the Somali Police Force (SPF).
The two sides clashed at a police checkpoint in Mogadishu on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, Dhagajun was shot. He succumbed to his injuries later.
Security authorities have launched investigation into the matter to discover what caused the exchange of fire between the police and the guards.
