Hormuud Salaam Foundation Helping Train 1,000 Somali Youth to Operate Motorcycles

Hormuud Salaam Foundation (HSF) is helping to train 1,000 Somali youth interested in learning how to ride motorcycles.

HSF launched a program on Monday, September 5 to achieve this goal.

The first batch of 80 youths has already embarked on the training, which would then see them making a livelihood.

The foundation hopes that the youths would then have their own source of income.

HSF runs the training program in conjunction with other organizations such as Buruuj Technical School and Rikaab Company.

After training, Rikaab would hire the youth.

The company has a logistics, transportation, and delivery arm.

Launching the program, Abdullahi Nur Osman said that the second batch of youths would commence training on November 5, 2022.

Osman is the Chairman of the Hormuud Salaam Foundation.

Muhammad Abdullahi Mohamud, Rikaab’s Managing Director, assured the youths that his company would hire them immediately after they complete the 28-day training.
