Hormuud Telecom has promised to continue supporting literature and learning in Somalia.
The telecom firm made this vow on December 10 at the end of the Mogadishu International Book Fair.
This was the book fair’s sixth anniversary.
Last year the event never took place owing to the COVID-19 pandemic that had ravaged the nation.
Organizers of this year’s event admitted that it would not have taken place without the intervention and sponsorship of Hormuud Telecom.
Hormuud is the largest private entity employer in Somalia.
Yasin Hassan, Hormuud’s Head of Corporate Affairs, said the firm will continue sponsoring the Book Fair as part of its investments in Somali youth.
