Mogadishu, Somalia – Horseed FC, the football team representing the Somali National Army, has emerged victorious in the 2025 Peace and Unity Cup after defeating Dekaddaha Team 1-0 in a tightly contested final held on Monday in Mogadishu.

The tournament, organized to commemorate Somalia’s 65th Independence and Unity Day, attracted large crowds and featured spirited competition among leading football clubs. The final match saw Horseed FC dominate possession, with the decisive goal coming midway through the second half, securing them the championship title.

Following the match, Minister of Defence Ahmed Mo’alim Fiqi extended heartfelt congratulations to the team, praising their discipline, teamwork, and representation of the armed forces on such a symbolic occasion.

“This victory by Horseed FC is not just a sporting achievement—it is a celebration of national pride, unity, and the enduring spirit of our people. Their performance today reflects the dedication and strength of our armed forces both on and off the battlefield,” Fiqi said.
