Houses in Salahley Destroyed as Heavy Rains Pound the Area

Several houses were destroyed in Salahley district in Somaliland as heavy rains pounded the area for the better part of Tuesday.

The heavy downpour, which was accompanied by intense winds, rocked the district causing extensive damages to several properties.

Among these were a hospital and school building. Residential houses were not spared, either.

According to locals, Salahley’s municipality building also suffered extensive damages yesterday as the combination of rains and winds proved too much for it to handle.

Rooftops were blown off buildings thus leaving many families homeless for the night.

Meanwhile, patients at the local hospital had to be evacuated to protect them from any harm that could have resulted from the heavy downpour.
