A huge explosion rocked the coastal town of Barawe in Lower Shabelle on Tuesday morning.
Reports from the region indicate that an improvised explosive device (IED) blasted through the quiet coastal town causing mayhem everywhere.
According to sources, one soldier died in the explosion.
Preliminary reports indicate that seven other soldiers were wounded. They are currently in hospital receiving treatment for their injuries.
The incident took place next to a busy bus station.
