Somalia’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has dispatched food aid to Buuhoodle district.
The ministry dispatched a plane full of food supplies to vulnerable families in Buuhoodle on Sunday.
The plane left for Buuhoodle on the morning of April 10.
Officials from the humanitarian ministry were at the airport in Mogadishu to see the plane and its crew off.
Buuhoodle is currently hosting many internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The IDPs are in the region after fleeing their homes primarily because of the ongoing drought that has left millions of Somalis on the brink of famine and starvation.
