The federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has dispatched a consignment of food donations to Burhakaba and Galkayo.
The plane carrying the donations departed for the two regions on Thursday, March 31.
According to officials from the ministry, food donations constitute part of the Somali government’s drought response efforts.
The ongoing drought has created a huge need for urgent humanitarian assistance to Somalis.
Burhakaba and Galkayo have their fair share of vulnerable individuals and households that are in need of emergency relief efforts.
