Hundreds of Mogadishu Residents Turn Up in the Streets to Celebrate Shir Sanadeed

Hundreds of Mogadishu residents took to the streets to celebrate the annual Shir Sanadeed Festival.

The residents turned out with their long red sticks.

They were from various districts in Mogadishu such as Abdulaziz, Shangaani, and Hamarweyne to mention a few.

This year’s festival comes despite the COVID-19 pandemic, which has ravaged the entire country and the entire world.

Men, women, and the youth all took to the streets.

The festival comes at a time when the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has started lifting some of the COVID-19 restrictions it had imposed three months ago.
