ICA Prevents 124 Somali Youths from Illegal Migration in 3 Months

The Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA) of Somalia has been actively working to prevent illegal migration and safeguard its citizens.

Today, the agency said that it had prevented 124 Somali youths from taking part in dangerous and illegal migration in the last three months.

Lately, the ICA has undertaken several initiatives to enhance border management and collaboration with various government agencies.

For instance, in February 2024, the ICA organized a meeting in Kismayo with key departments, including the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Somali Police Force (SPF), Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Health, to establish a coordinating committee for managing border crossings at Dhobley and Raaskambooni on the Kenya-Somalia border.

Additionally, ICA launched a 5-Year Strategic Plan in June 2024 aimed at strengthening immigration and border management systems, improving service delivery, and contributing to Somalia’s overall security and prosperity.

These efforts reflect the ICA’s commitment to addressing challenges related to illegal migration and ensuring the safety and well-being of Somali youths.
