The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled that Somalia has no shared maritime boundary with Kenya.
The Hague-based court gave its ruling on the maritime dispute between the two neighboring East African nations on Tuesday, October 12.
Moreover, it dismissed assertion by Kenya regarding the maritime boundary that follows the parallel of latitude that Nairobi presented.
Nevertheless, the Hague-based court ruled against Somalia’s claim that Kenya had violated its international territory.
The case has been seven years in the making.
ICJ ruled that none of the parties had the option of appealing any of its findings and determinations on the matter.
