The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) condemns the recent attack on African Union Mission to Somalia (ATMIS) troops from Uganda.
IGAD issued a statement on Sunday calling out Al-Shabaab for the daring attack at a military base full of Ugandan soldiers serving under ATMIS in Somalia.
The attack occurred in the wee hours of Friday.
Currently, there is no official confirmation on the exact number of Ugandan soldiers killed in the daring attack although Al-Shabaab puts this at 137.
IGAD conveyed condolences to those whose loved ones and friends lost their lives in the attack at Bulo Marer.
