The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has expressed its support for the strengthening diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Somalia, as evidenced by the visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Mogadishu on Thursday.
During this visit, Prime Minister Abiy was welcomed by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to constructive dialogue, regional cooperation, and lasting peace.
This high-level engagement follows the signing of the Ankara Declaration in Türkiye, which represents a significant step toward improving infrastructural connectivity, economic collaboration, and stability in the Horn of Africa.
