The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) is to appoint a Deputy Executive Secretary from Somalia.
IGAD announced this during the Heads of Government and State in Djibouti.
Abshir Omar Jama Huruse, the Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed this on Tuesday.
The member states commended the progress that Somalia has made over the past year in areas such as peace, security, and development.
