The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has condemned Friday’s terror attack at Hayat Hotel in Mogadishu.
IGAD’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, condemned the attack in a press statement issued on August 20.
In the statement, Dr. Gebeyehu expressed deep condolences and sympathies to the families of the 20 people who were killed.
He also expressed regret to those injured and wished them god-speed in their recovery.
Dr. Gebeyehu promised that IGAD would continue cooperating with Somali authorities to defeat terrorism around the country.
The IGAD Executive Secretary promised continued enhancement of regional and international cooperation in the fight against all forms of terrorism too.
