Illegal Checkpoints Leave 50 Trucks Stranded between Mogadishu and Baidoa

The issue of illegal checkpoints causing disruptions is a significant problem in Somalia.

The presence of these checkpoints near Wanlaweyn town in the Lower Shabelle region is particularly problematic, as it affects the only access road to Baidoa town in the Bay region, leading to at least 50 trucks being stranded.

This not only hinders the flow of goods but also impacts local economies and communities relying on these supplies.

Addressing this issue would require coordinated efforts from local authorities and possibly international partners to ensure safe and free passage on critical routes.
