Osman Abukar Dubbe, the Minister of Information in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), has been elected into the Upper House.
Dubbe won the regional state senatorial elections for Somaliland on September 28.
The minister expressed great delight at the confidence that the people of Somaliland have in his leadership.
Dubbe is now expected to combine his position as the information minister with the new role as the Senator in the Upper House.
He now joins six other senators who were elected to represent Somaliland in the Upper House.
