Several were reportedly injured in a grenade attack carried out in Beletweyne, Hiiran on September 7.
Local sources confirmed that unknown gunmen hurled a grenade at officers manning a security checkpoint in the town.
According to local residents, the unknown gunmen who hurled the grenade took off immediately thereafter.
Hiiran security forces then launched a massive manhunt for the gunmen.
Nevertheless, there’s yet to be any comment by the local authorities on the incident.
The incident took place a few days after another one that targeted three state Members of Parliament (MPs).
