New TPEC Regional Commissioners Sworn in

A new batch of regional Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) commissioners has been sworn into office.

The new commissioners were sworn into office on September 13.

The TPEC commissioners are in charge of Mudug, Nugal, and Sool. Others are to serve in Haylaan, Bari, and Gardafu.

Currently, Somalia is on an electioneering period.

Puntland has already held partial elections for its Upper House seats. It now awaits elections for parliamentary seats.

The parliamentary polls take place in October 2021.
