The federal Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation has reminded the elders of Galmudug state of the important role they play in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
Ahmed Fiqi, the interior minister, said this during his meeting with the traditional elders and community leaders from the regional state of Galmudug.
Fiqi and the elders met on Monday, September 19.
The minister encouraged the elders not to hide but to take frontline roles in working closely with the government to decimate terrorism from the region.
He advised them to embrace the community-based security that the government champions.
