MOGADISHU — The Director General of Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation (MoIFAR), Abdulkadir Ali, has presided over a series of high-level meetings in the capital, including the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Stabilization and strategic talks with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at improving coordination and synchronizing activities with governmental priorities in recently liberated and vulnerable regions.
Focus on Liberated Zones
During the Inter-Ministerial Committee gathering, deliberations thoroughly covered the essential requirements, implementation obstacles, and strategic methods needed to hasten government programs in recently recovered zones. The committee placed a particular emphasis on stabilization efforts in the Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle regions, where national forces have recently ousted militant elements.
The session underscored the profound significance of unified inter-ministerial efforts. Officials agreed that maintaining a synchronized approach is vital to not only solidify hard-won peace but also to rapidly broaden governmental service provision and humanitarian support to populations returning to these areas.
Strengthening Partnerships with the UNDP
In a subsequent coordination meeting with the UNDP, Director General Abdulkadir Ali worked to reinforce these stabilization initiatives on an international level. The gathering focused on ensuring that UN-backed activities, such as the Wadajiir Nabadeed (Together for Peace) project, are meticulously synchronized with the Federal Government’s immediate priorities.
The talks underscored the Ministry’s pivotal role in orchestrating stabilization endeavors and fostering collaborative partnerships that comprehensively bolster peace, infrastructure reconstruction, and institutional development throughout Somalia.
