Interior Ministry Holds Stabilization Working Group Meeting in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, Somalia — The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation convened its quarterly Stabilization and Early Recovery Technical Working Group Meeting in Mogadishu this morning. The high-level gathering brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, international partners, civil society organizations, and humanitarian actors, to assess progress, share insights, and align strategic priorities.

The meeting focused on evaluating the implementation of stabilization efforts in newly liberated areas and exploring ways to accelerate early recovery initiatives across Somalia.

Participants exchanged updates on ongoing programs, identified challenges on the ground, and discussed practical solutions to enhance coordination and impact.

Speaking at the opening, a senior ministry official emphasized the importance of strong collaboration among partners to ensure sustainable peace and resilience in conflict-affected communities. “Stabilization is not just about security—it’s about building trust, restoring governance, and providing essential services to our people,” the official noted.

The Technical Working Group serves as a vital platform for ensuring that stabilization and recovery interventions are locally driven, well-coordinated, and responsive to the needs of affected populations.

Today’s meeting is part of the ministry’s continued efforts to foster national cohesion, support local governance, and lay the groundwork for long-term development.
