The federal Ministry of Interior has condemned Al-Shabaab for killing a popular Somali elder in a shocking attack on Friday.
The ministry called out Al-Shabaab militants for killing Yusuf Fidow, his son, and other traditional elders on September 16.
Fidow and the others were killed while on their way to Bulo-burde town.
According to the statement by the interior ministry, Fidow and the others were killed for refusing to pay the bribe that the militants demanded from them.
The ministry also said that Fidow and the rest refused to hand over their children to the terrorists.
Al-Shabaab terrorists were on a mission to recruit young men to join their cause.
