International partners have released a joint statement calling for the peaceful completion of elections for the new leadership of the House of the People.
Lower House legislators are scheduled to elect the new Speaker and Deputy Speakers on Wednesday, April 27.
However, there are fears that the process might not take place.
Members of Parliament (MPs) have already gathered at Afiyosini in Mogadishu where the elections are to take place.
International partners issued a statement today on the issue.
The Upper House already elected the new leadership on Tuesday, April 26.
The international partners encouraged all stakeholders to exercise restraint while resolving their differences through dialogue and compromise.
