The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has today donated a consignment of COVID-19 equipment to the government of Somaliland.
IOM said the donation of hygiene and sanitization equipment is its way of supporting the efforts by the government to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus around the country.
IOM WASH Officer in Charge, Mohamed Abdihakim Mahmoud, handed over the donation in a ceremony also attended by the Director General in the Ministry of Water Development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mahmoud said, “IOM has launched a campaign to increase awareness of the virulent disease and is now working with the government to achieve this.”
He added that the donation would see the supplies distributed to two border towns in the country; namely, Baligubadle and Tog-Wajale.
