ISIS has confirmed that one of its jihadists from Pakistan was killed in Puntland.
The Somali-based branch of the militia identified the dead jihadist as Khalid Jama, who is also known as Abu Osama Al-Muhajir.
ISIS stated that Jama was killed during the recent drone attack carried out in the mountains of Golis.
At the time of his death, Jama served as the group’s senior officer in charge of its media outlet.
The US African Command (AFRICOM) carried out the attack with the support of Somali National Army (SNA) troops and local Puntland forces.
This year, AFRICOM, SNA, and African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have increased the number of military operations against extremist groups in the country.
