Mogadishu — Italy’s Ambassador to Somalia, Pier Mario Daccò Coppi, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s national growth agenda during the launch of the Centennial Vision 2060 on Monday in Mogadishu.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Coppi emphasized Italy’s strategic focus on bolstering Somalia’s economic development, improving vital infrastructure, and empowering youth across the country.
“Italy is dedicated to partnering with Somalia in its journey toward sustainable progress. Through targeted investments and collaborative programs, especially for youth and entrepreneurial initiatives, we aim to contribute to a stable and prosperous future,” said the Ambassador.
The Centennial Vision 2060 outlines Somalia’s long-term aspirations for growth, stability, and self-reliance across multiple sectors. The Italian envoy noted that these goals align closely with Italy’s commitment to fostering Somalia’s recovery and resilience.
He also underlined the importance of strengthening partnerships between the two nations, especially in areas that will generate new economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.
The launch event brought together Somali government officials, diplomatic missions, and development partners in a show of solidarity for Somalia’s ambitions as it charts its path toward the next four decades.
As Somalia works toward realizing the Centennial Vision 2060, Italy’s pledge signals increased international support for national programs that aim to drive sustainable growth and social progress.
