Italy’s Chief of Defense visited both Somalia and Ethiopia this week.
On Tuesday, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone was in Somalia for meetings with top government and military officials.
On Wednesday, he arrived in Addis Ababa for the second phase of his official visit.
It’s possible that he seeks to cool down the diplomatic temperatures between the two neighboring East Africa nations.
Relations between them are poor since Ethiopia signed a seaport deal with Somaliland in January.
