Jeyte Says Mogadishu and HirShabelle are to Blame for Lack of Development in Hiiraan

Ex-Governor Ali Jeyte Osman has hit out strongly at Mogadishu and the HirShabelle administration for the lack of development in Hiiraan.

Jeyte, the immediate former Governor of Hiiraan, accused the federal government of ignoring the region in matters to do with development.

He added that the regional government of HirShabelle is equally culpable.

“The regional and federal governments have failed to initiate significant development projects in Hiiraan,” Jeyte added.

“It pains me to note that we lack a proactive administration that focuses on the needs and interests of Somalis in the region,” he continued.

His comments come at a time when he’s expected to hold talks with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

The Somali President is in Mahas on official duties.
