The Joint Electoral Advisory Committee held a meeting with President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor of Galmudug and President Abdiazis Hassan Mohamed Lafta-Gareen on August 12.
During the meeting, the technical committee briefed the presidents of two of the Federal Member States (FMS) on the progress made in the lead up to Dhusamareb III.
The meeting is crucial since it comes a few days before Dhusamareb III is expected to start.
Reports indicate that the latest round of Dhusamareb talks commences on August 15 in Galmudug’s administrative capital, where the first and second meetings took place.
The consultative meeting between the committee and FMS leadership offers proof of the efforts put in to find a timely solution for Somalia.
