On Tuesday, the state government of Jubaland declared all face-covering veils banned with immediate effect.
Consequently, the government has issued a stern warning to women to stop wearing the veils in public.
According to the intelligence and security agency in the state, the wearing of veils that cover the entire face has promoted insecurity in the region.
Lately, members of extremist groups around the country have been seen wearing similar types of masks.
Further, the government’s intelligence agency clarified that members of the public are only permitted to wear the COVID-19 facemasks.
