Residents of Somalia’s regional state of Jubaland have called for immediate aid as the severe drought continues to claim lives.
A local civil society activist, Khadija Haji Yaqub, confirmed that a 12-year old boy lost his life.
Haji claims that the drought is getting worse by the day.
Countless residents claim that the situation is worse than the world thinks. They mostly cite the lack of drinking water and dying livestock as two of their greatest challenges.
Consequently, the residents now call upon the Jubaland authorities and the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to help.
They also appealed to the business community to come to their aid as soon as possible.
