A Jubaland school has received educational materials from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
On October 2, AMISOM donated the materials to Gedo’s Elwak Primary School.
The supplies included desks, office furniture, chairs, sports equipment, wooden blackboards, and a water tank.
Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) contingent donated the items.
Lieutenant Colonel Peter Mwangi, the Commanding Officer of the III Mechanized Infantry Battalion, led the Kenyan troops in delivering the supplies to the school.
He said that the donations were made as part of AMISOM’s Quick Impact Projects (QIPs).
Lt. Col. Mwangi spoke about the importance of ensuring that children receive the best possible education.
According to him, there can be no peace or development without education.
