The regional state of Jubbaland confirmed that it foiled a terrorist attack in Lower Jubba.
Members of the regional Darwish Forces foiled the attack by Al-Shabaab militants that targeted an army base in Lower Jubba on Saturday morning.
Mahad Mohamed Islam, the commander of the Darwish troops, added that six of his soldiers were wounded in the attack.
He stated that his forces shot one of the two explosive-laden trucks militants wanted to use in the attack.
The shot truck then exploded thus nipping the militants’ plans in the bud.
Although he did not provide the exact figures, Islam said that his troops killed, injured, and captured several militants.
