A Jubbaland lawmaker died of complications related to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic that continues to rock the region.
Abdi Hassan Hish, a Jubbaland Member of Parliament (MP), lost his life on the morning of March 18.
Hish died at a hospital in Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubbaland.
At the time of his death, the lawmaker was receiving medical treatment for complications associated with the disease.
A communiqué from Jubbaland State House shows that the MP had been ailing with complications related to COVID-19 in the last few days.
Somalia is currently on the second wave of COVID-19.
