Jubbaland Leader Discusses Drought and Elections with UK Ambassador

President Ahmed Islam Mohamed Madobe of Jubbaland held discussions on different issues with the United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia.

Madobe’s meeting with Ambassador Kate Foster took place on Saturday, January 29.

Nick Dyer, the UK Special Envoy for Famine Prevention and Humanitarian Affairs, accompanied Ambassador Foster to the meeting with President Madobe.

The Jubbaland leader confirmed that he held “lengthy discussions” on the ongoing drought in the region with the British officials.

Several members of President Madobe’s administration were also at the meeting.

These included Omar Jama, Jubbaland’s Deputy Minister of Planning was among those at the meeting.

Others were Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, the Minister of Relief and Disaster Management.

Ahmed Hussein Baraki, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, joined Madobe and other government officials during the discussions too.
