The regional state of Jubbaland is to hold 11 traditional elders for a period of 60 days for collaborating with Al-Shabaab terrorists.
Jubbaland Military Court found that the elders have a case to answer.
On Sunday, the military court passed the sentence while sitting in Kismayo.
According to the prosecution, the 60 days will give authorities ample time to investigate the charges filed against the elders further.
Consequently, the prosecution now has ample time to conclude its investigations before the trial starts.
