Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) killed 20 Al-Shabaab terrorists in an operation along the Kenya-Somalia border.
Terrorists have increased their activities along the border and inside Kenyan borders too in the recent past.
Consequently, both sides engaged in a gun battle on Thursday.
Twenty militants then lost their lives in the subsequent fight.
The battle, which lasted several hours, started when the militants launched the initial attack against Kenyan forces.
Kenya’s Special Operations Group (SOG) then hit back.
Sources within the Kenyan side added that eight of its personnel suffered injuries in the hours-long gun battle.
The incident took place at Mandera County’s Ogorwen.
